New Apartment part 2: spot the person

It's another lazy Sunday afternoon, and I filled about 20 minutes of my day by trying to hide from the photo booth camera.

I added in this little blooper. Look at me run! (not fast enough!)

Origami and Cacti

I have been thoroughly enjoying my christmas break, and since this is the last day before the grind, I had decided to spend part of the morning making origami things. But first, yesterday my awesome boyfriend came home with this:

A whole family of Cactuses! I really love the bubbly red one.

I made some coasters,

And a decoration!

(all these photos were taken on my laptop, hence my presence!)

New Apartment part 1

Hello!
Here are some peeks at my new apartment.

My Favourite Melodies of All Time

Since my blog has been very visual so far, I decided to make an audio post. As I am a musician, I guess it was only a matter of time. I decided to post my favourite melodies as youtube videos, so maybe some of them will have some visuals anyhow! Now, these are not particularly my favourite songs, or favourite artists, but my favourite melodies.
These are in no particular order:

Vivadi- Four Seasons, Winter- II. Largo

This melody is so beautiful. When I hear it, I think of the most loving lullaby ever written. It is so precious.

Mozart- Requiem: Lacrimosa

I chose this video because it has a very good animation to go with it! What a beautiful piece of music. But I love it for the melody.

Regina Specter- Samson

Very good. Every time!

Rufus Wainwright- Art Teacher

I know a lot of people aren't a huge fan of Rufus because of his voice. I don't mind his voice, and I think he's an absolutely brilliant melody writer. His phrases are so loooonnng!

Jeff Buckley performing Cohen's Hallelujia

There are a lot of versions of this song (including one by Rufus W.) but this is the best.

That's all I can think of right now, and if I add any more you might get sick of melodies and walk away! Or, leave this page.... you know what I mean. I hope five melodies was just enough to satisfy you today!

Happy New Year!

My Christmas Wish List

A New Post About New Things

I apologise for not making a new blog post in a while. My camera broke, and is still broken, so I've been using my boyfriend's camera instead. It's a bunch of years older than mine, so it just doesn't do the job quite as well. But, it works, and I can use it, so I just need to find interesting things to blog about! Here are my almost interesting things!

I recently bought a pair of children's water ear plugs. I thought that they'd block out most sound, but still make everything audible so I could wear them for piccolo playing. Turns out they don't block out any sound at all! So I put some nail polish over the hole to hopefully block out the tiniest bit of sound. It kind of works! And looks cool.

I made this yummy bean veggie salsa food last week. I ate it for left overs so many times. That's hard to do, if you're me and you don't really like kidney beans very much!

Here it is with rice and cheese. Thank you Lorri for teaching me how to make this!

I was having a bad day yesterday, so I bought this. Instantly my day was better.

This is a secret surprise for someone! (For Christmas!)

This candle had vanilla scent on the top, and apple cinnamon on the bottom. As you can see, I've burned through all the vanilla and am on to apple cinnamon! Smells like Christmas now!

Aaaaand... here I am with the nail polish. It looks so good.

Mini Paintings

Last Saturday night I stayed home to hang out with myself and make some tiny paintings. They aren't the best I've done, but it was good to just actually do some art.

This first one is an acrylic on a mini canvas. My acrylic paint really sucks. It was like water. Also, the black outlines I did in nail polish!

These three little ones go from worst to best, and are done with watercolours, my favourite!

My camera is still broken, sitting on my desk, but my scanner is still working just fine!

Hopefully I'll have more things to post in the coming weeks!
